ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL FARM MANAGEMENT CLIENTS AND PARTNER FARMERS

1. ELIGIBILITY FOR FUNDING SUPPORT

All farmers who have completed payment for farm management services with FPI are hereby informed that their farms automatically qualify to be considered as part of the FPI Individual Funded Farms Program.

This initiative has been introduced to reward commitment, encourage practical application of acquired skills, and promote sustainable agricultural production in line with the objectives of the Rural and Urban Agriculture Innovative Production Program (RUAIPP).

2. WHAT THIS FUNDING MEANS

Under this program:

  • Farmer’s Pride International will directly support selected farms from among those managed under our Farm Management Program.
  • Each qualifying farm shall be considered for practical investment and technical support.
  • FPI will identify and select two (2) to three (3) key production areas on your farm where funding and technical intervention will be applied.

These focus areas may include, but are not limited to:

  • Irrigation system establishment
  • Seed and input support
  • Soil improvement and land preparation
  • Infrastructure development
  • Crop establishment and management
  • Post-harvest handling and value addition

The exact areas of funding will be determined after professional farm assessments and consultations between the farmer and the FPI technical team.

3. SELECTION CRITERIA

It is important to note the following:

  • Funding will be performance-based and guided by farm readiness.
  • Priority will be given to farmers who have demonstrated seriousness, discipline, and willingness to implement recommended agricultural practices.
  • Site visits and farm assessments will be conducted to determine the most strategic intervention points.

Being part of the Farm Management Program does not automatically guarantee full funding; rather, it guarantees eligibility to be considered under this initiative.

4. STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

This funding program is aligned with the broader goals of Farmer’s Pride International, which include:

  • Building sustainable and profitable farms
  • Strengthening Agriculture-Based Clusters (ABCs)
  • Promoting climate-smart agriculture
  • Enhancing food security and export readiness
  • Supporting the participation of women and young people in agriculture
  • Contributing to national development through the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme (BETP)

5. NEXT STEPS

All qualifying farmers will be contacted directly by the FPI coordination office for:

  • Farm verification
  • Assessment scheduling
  • Identification of funding areas
  • Development of individual farm support plan

Farmers who have paid for farm management but have not yet commenced implementation are encouraged to immediately engage with the FPI technical office to activate their participation.
